Lately

Well we started school. Over all it went well. Each section took a little longer than what I had scheduled - but that was the biggest bump. Thus far anyway. It is hard trying to give them equal one on one time - impossible really, because Marina needs it all the time. So it means some going back and forth between them - trying to teach/direct Marina, and answer/explain things to Sasha.

Sasha seems pretty interested in what she is learning - so hopefully that will continue. I sense this is kind of a "new and interesting" thing for now with Marina, but that she might be over it after a few more days... so there may be a few battles there. But we'll see!

The girls all of the sudden like Mexican - which I am thoroughly excited about. We had some not too long after they got here, and they were a little "eh" about it. However, I made tacos the other night, and then we went to a Mexican restaurant after church on Sunday - their choice! They picked it over pizza. Sasha even announced that she "loves Mexican," and Marina went to town on the salsa.

I had my 16 week, technically 15.5 weeks, appointment on Monday. Shane wasn't with me - because I didn't think they would be doing an ultrasound. However, they did - and the technician asked me if I wanted to know the sex. I told her no, since Shane wasn't there. But now it is driving me crazy! We go back on September 20th to find out.

Just a few of the things I have learned a kid will do, when you are not in the room with them (or even if you are):

1) Glue tiny pieces of paper to their bedroom door.
2) Put glow in the dark bracelets around light bulbs while they are on.
3) Light matches in the bathroom.
4) Try to catch pieces of paper on fire... in the living room... off of a Yankee Candle.
5) Put dirty underwear and socks in their drawer, right along with the clean ones.
6) Write on anything and everything that is lying around.
7) Apply temporary tattoos to themselves... right before you leave the house to go somewhere.

  1. The same thing with the doctor happened to me! After I left, a friend said I should have gotten her to put if it was a boy or girl on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope for us to open later. I wish I would have known that!!!!
